Passionate about "people power" in Walsall...

WE are delighted to continue to work with Walsall's £52 million New Deal for Communities - which puts people at the heart of its ambitious vision, tranforming neighbourhoods and raising aspirations.

Having worked on on features and other promotional copy for this life-changing and award-winning initiative, which covers areas including employment, health and housing, we are now all set to proofread on-going marketing and news material.

Bulgarian Villas launches new brochure

Bulgarian_villas_1We've just finished working on a brochure for Bulgarian Villas Ltd and here it is.  It's the first eight page brochure they've had produced and we had four weeks from start to finish to get the design, copy and images together so they could take it to the Places in the Sun exhibition at the NEC. And while I was working on this, Katie was reporting on this which resulted in some excellent coverage so it was a great result all round.  [Carol]

If you'd like a brochure you can contact Helen Toney on 0870 950 9332 but here is a bit more of a taster too...

Variety, the spice of our lives

It has been an interesting few days to say the least - from the kerfuffle of a page lead in The Sun and all that entails to chasing the department of the minister for international development for a quote on how students can help change the world, and plenty more in between. We haven't had much chance to scratch our heads and wonder how on earth did we get here? But I think we could do with it. [Linda]

Steps to Work

We've just completed some case studies for the Walsall-based organisation, Steps to Work. This is a government-funded body giving people a push into the workplace after they've been unable to find a job for a whole variety of reasons. Some of the people we've written about had taken time out to care for elderly relatives, others had been hit by health problems themselves. Some had left school with no qualifications to speak of while others needed to take more exams to get further in their chosen career. In most cases the support went as far as paying for clothes to wear for interview or start work in. And in some instances the team have been working very closely with Blakenall's New Deal initiative - something that we've written about previously for the Express & Star.  Inspirational stuff.[Carol]
