“My experience of Wings to date has been a very positive one. There is a genuine feeling of support and a real sense of camaraderie amongst the members and the Wings team themselves. I particularly enjoyed meeting with like-minded people and really gained a new outlook on the new members training day.”

Pat Smith, Utility Warehouse Distributor
Pat Smith will be celebrating her first anniversary as a Wings member in April of this year and has thoroughly enjoyed her time so far with our Cannock group:
“I knew that my Wings membership would be valuable to my business, I didn’t realise however just how much I would gain on both a business and personal level. The ladies in the group are wonderful, my business has grown substantially, and through the new member training and six months in the role of Chairperson, my confidence has soared. I now feel that I have grown my business ‘Wings’!”

The new year will hopefully mean plenty of new work for businesswomen in Staffordshire thanks to the launch of two new networking groups, designed to help local companies work together more closely.
Wings – Women’s Independent Networking Groups – was established in Cannock in 2004, but demand has seen new groups emerge in Bromsgrove, and now Lichfield and Stafford.

Bromsgrove Wings is going from strength to strength! I am delighted to share that just this week we have secured our new venue, having been between venues since the closure of the Queens Head Inn. From February, we will be meeting at The Crown Hotel in Wychbold, which is in an ideal location and will be the perfect setting for our meetings. On the note of venues, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Donnah Morgan of DM Training for allowing us to use her training centre to hold our January meeting at such short notice.

Cannock Wings has always been a fabulous group and this has become even more apparent of late when, during our second meeting of 2011, 42 business referrals were passed around the room! This is something all of our members should be proud of and is testament to the strength of the relationships being built within the group.
In October, the group reached capacity with 24 members - yet we still had lots of visitors coming along to our meetings, many of whom wanted to join us. We therefore launched two new groups nearby in November to cater for this demand. Several members of our Cannock group kindly offered to transfer their membership to the new groups to help the groups to have the best possible start.

I couldn't be happier with how the first major Wings exhibition went last month, it was a huge success. There was an amazing atmosphere and I've received some great feedback about the event, the workshops and the speakers which I've included below.
I also want to say a huge thank you to all the Wings members for their help. Without their support, encouragement and hard work it would not have been possible.
