Social media has taken the world by storm and as a business owner, you're using it as an effective sales and marketing tool...Aren't you?
If not, it's often for the simple reason that you may feel you don't have the resources to spare, or perhaps the time to learn more about what it all means and what it can do for your business.
Which is where we can help. We’ve teamed up with training providers SSC Learning and are working with them to pioneer a new Social Media Marketing Apprenticeship Scheme across Staffordshire and the Midlands.
This new scheme will be kicking off on September 12, and we aim to launch it with 10 learners (aged between 16 and 18) and 10 companies committed to taking on an apprentice.
We’ve already got some learners signed up and we’d like to introduce them to business owners with a genuine interest in the scheme, as well as taking the opportunity to tell businesses more about what’s involved.
If you’d like to meet our learners and trainers and find out more, please join us on Tuesday, September 20 at the Roman Way Hotel in Cannock from 12noon – 2pm (complimentary refreshments and buffet lunch provided).
You can email Kim to reserve your place.
Facts about the scheme
Apprentices are being carefully selected and must have achieved a good level in English, and have good IT and communication skills.
Employers are required to employ an apprentice on a permanent contract for a minimum of 30 hours per week and on a minimum of £2.50 per hour; we'd expect quarterly salary reviews built in to allow for success to be rewarded.
Apprentices will undertake three weeks' of intensive training at the start of the scheme and will be required to attend a workshop one day each month connected with one facet of social media; each learner will be invited to bring in real-life problems or challenges that our media experts can advise on.
Apprentices will be assessed in their workplace at least once a month by our assessors. Our assessors will also speak to the employer on a regular basis to track progress and ensure they are adequately fulfilling their role within the company.
At the end of the first 12 months apprentices will have achieved a Level 3 Management Apprenticeship Framework (A Level equivalent)
At the end of the programme the learner will have achieved:
A full, level 3 Apprenticeship Framework in Management comprising of:
EDI QCF Level 3 NVQ Certificate in Management
EDI QCF Level 3 Technical Certificate in Management Principles
EDI Key Skills Lv2 Communication and Application of Number
EDEXCEL BTEC Lv3 Certificate in Social Media for Business
.....And received many hours of mentoring and training across the programme from marketing, PR and journalism professionals.
