Table-toppers net sponsorship from Park Inn Hotel

We were delighted to see our clients, the Park Inn Hotel York, have agreed to sponsor a local football team who have yet to be beaten this season.

The city centre hotel is hoping their support will help prolong the unbeaten run of Rawcliffe FC’s under-19 football team and keep them at the top of the table.

The Park Inn by Radisson York has provided the team with training tops, and is allowing the 15-strong squad to train free-of-charge at the hotel’s impressive gym facilities on a Saturday.

York swimmers make a splash at national champs with city hotel’s backing

A group of York’s top swimmers are hoping to make a splash at the national championships later this month thanks to the support of a city hotel.

A group of eight swimmers from the York City Baths Club have won through to the prestigious championships at Ponds Forge starting on Thursday, July 21.

The swimmers from the historic club will look a cut above the competition after being kitted out in specially made T-shirts and hoodies for the championships, provided by The Park Inn by Radisson York.

Armitage golf club’s fun programme gives game a makeover

  

Golfer Pete Till is looking the part for a series of fun activities at St Thomas’s Priory Golf Club, aimed at changing the image of the game.

The amateur dramatic enthusiast has put on his best frock to take part in a dress down day at St Thomas’s, near Lichfield, part of the Hawkesyard Estate.

It’s one of five events the Armitage club is putting on from Monday July 18 to Friday July 22, the week after the British Open, to attract players who have been put off by golf’s stuffy reputation.

A Walsall hotel is throwing a beach party, complete with surfing, Hawaiian shirts and a Zumba workout for the whole family, in a bid to help people get in shape for the summer.

The Village Hotel, just off junction 10 of the M6, is hosting the leisure weekend on June 25 and 26, to persuade people to get more active.

“The whole weekend is to encourage people to get exercising, but to have fun with it, which is why we have chosen the beach theme. People associate the beach with enjoying themselves, but they also want to look good, so we are offering them a helping hand,” explained Damian Goom, general manager of The Village.

SOME of the hottest tips of the night at Wolverhampton Racecourse will be related to fashion rather than horses when the venue hosts its ever-popular Ladies Evening.

And to make sure the tips are red-hot, a Wolverhampton department store is staging a fashion show at the event, showcasing next season’s latest outfits.

Staff from House of Fraser will be modeling a range of top designs from labels such as Coast, Hobbs, Mint Velvet, Untold and Kenneth Cole, to name but a few, in a range of styles, with an emphasis on evening wear.

Fun-packed family day at Wolverhampton Racecourse

WOLVERHAMPTON Racecourse is set to lead the field in summer holiday entertainment when it hosts its family fun day, featuring guest star SpongeBob SquarePants.

The day – which is totally free for youngsters - is designed to offer something for everyone, with heaps of things for children to enjoy, plus plenty to keep their parents happy too.

Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants will welcome families as they arrive, and will be making appearances at various intervals throughout the afternoon, as youngsters make the most of the host of attractions.
